The first two CD'S of this set were already impressive, and I can add the third CD to that list. As a whole this set is essential, for it holds all the elements to impress. The Vocals are sublime as are the instrumental contributions. The choir can be a little overbearing and a tad to loud, but the synergy works in the total picture. The recording does justice to the music and interpretation. Most of the time the soloists are top notch, but there are moments in which I would have liked a somewhat milder approach and less attack for instance in the Kyrie Eleison-Christe Eleison-Kyrie Eleison, the first movement of the mass. But these are really minor quibbles, for the set is a highlight in my collection. Gilles is a name that will be close to my heart, for his music appeals to the heart. What a fine composer he was, and what a treasure he has left us. The booklet has all we need, just a pity that most of it is in French, and the text for the Mass in only in French or Latin.
